All the donated items become valuable proceeds that fund the FBCF’s programs and mission. Many residents do, in fact, donate to the FBCF and schedule their donation pickup in Pinecrest, Florida to contribute to a good cause.
Pinecrest Brief History & Demographics
During the 1900s, Miami pioneer and railroad giant, Henry Flagler, utilized the land of what is now Pinecrest, Florida to stage his construction of the overseas railroad to the Florida Keys. However, the railroad itself proved to be an impossible project, for it was vulnerable to Florida’s mercurial weather.
However, in the 1950s and 1960s, Pinecrest land development persevered and sold many 1-acre residences built in a ranch-like style, laying a solid foundation for its future rural and small-town charm. Unfortunately, some thirty years after those were built, Miami-Dade County was heavily affected by Hurricane Andrew. With maximum sustained winds of 115 mph, the hurricane demolished Pinecrest homes, businesses and schools. It was very unfortunate but once again, Pinecrest overcame this significant setback and continued developing businesses and communities.
Even mansions were built in the now-affluent village of Pinecrest, where the median household income was now around $105,557. Because of this, the locals contribute to the FBCF. They constantly schedule donation pickups in Pinecrest residences to donate used electronics and even furniture. The kindhearted village of Pinecrest knows what it’s like to overcome adversity, and rebuild from nothing. That’s why they gladly donate non-monetary items to the FBCF to provide funds to those in need of breast cancer aid.
The Village of Pinecrest became officially incorporated on March 12, 1996 with a modern Village Council made up of residents and influential business owners. It is a vibrant community made up of entrepreneurs, and a diversity of cultures and languages. In 2010, there were only 58% English-speakers, Spanish-speakers made up 35.08%, French and Portuguese were tied at 1.91%, Chinese speakers were about 1.67%, Arabic-speakers made up about 0.89% and German-speakers comprised 0.46% of the population. With such a diverse community, the village is tolerant of other cultures and causes. If you are in town for the day or reside in the elegant village, schedule your donation pickup in Pinecrest for whenever you wish. You can schedule the donation pickup on a date that’s convenient for you, and our drivers will personally collect it and drop a tax-return receipt for your tax deductions at the end of the year.
